WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL BLOG for La Pétanque Marinière in San Rafael, California. LPM has been an active Marin pétanque club since 1972 and affiliated with the Fédération of Pétanque USA, since 1975. We welcome people of all abilities, ages and nationalities to come and enjoy pétanque with us.

The Pierre Joske Courts are located on Civic Center drive in San Rafael. (click for directions). Casual games are played every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from about 1 pm. Tournament play is usually held on the second Sunday of every month.

Please consult the links on the sidebar to the right for more information on clubs in the bay area, nationally and world wide.

If you would like to play but haven't any boules, please contact our President, Christine Cragg. They can bring some for you to use, as well as introduce you to the basic skills and techniques of pétanque. In addition, if you are looking to purchase boules but are unsure as to which size and weight are right for you, we have a range of different examples from which to choose.

Valley Of The Moon Petanque - Oktoberfest

Dear VOMPC Members and Friends,
I hope this email finds most of you in continued safety and perhaps by now, in your own homes with your families.
Due to the ongoing fires and the very unhealthy air quality, the Board has decided to postpone this Sunday's Oktoberfest tournament. We are hoping to reschedule it to next month, a "Novemberfest," of sorts. The Board will be meeting this Thursday and a rescheduled date will be decided and announced to you by the end of this week.
Looking forward to seeing all of you soon on the pétanque courts in our beautiful hometown.
Sincerely,
Barbara Hall
President

LPM - Pierre Joske Courts Improvement Project

ATTENTION ALL LA PETANQUE MARINIERE MEMBERS

LPM has a contract with The County of Marin to use the park.
The County maintenance crews have started cleaning the courts.
The County is putting out a bid for contractors to do the first part of the project which will be the fencing.
LPM needs to raise $30,000 for the first phase. We have all enjoyed many hours of friendship, sport, and picnics on our pétanque courts and hope you will consider to do what you can, by donating to the project. We received our first donation of $5000 from Charlie Davantes. Thank you!!!! You don’t have to give that much, unless you can, then please do! Everything is appreciated and will help make this happen. Please fill out the donation sheet and send it back as soon as possible.  The donation is tax deductible.
