WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL BLOG for La Pétanque Marinière in San Rafael, California. LPM has been an active Marin pétanque club since 1972 and affiliated with the Fédération of Pétanque USA, since 1975. We welcome people of all abilities, ages and nationalities to come and enjoy pétanque with us.

The Pierre Joske Courts are located on Civic Center drive in San Rafael. (click for directions). Casual games are played every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from about 1 pm. Tournament play is usually held on the second Sunday of every month.

If you would like to play but haven't any boules, please contact our President, Christine Cragg. They can bring some for you to use, as well as introduce you to the basic skills and techniques of pétanque. In addition, if you are looking to purchase boules but are unsure as to which size and weight are right for you, we have a range of different examples from which to choose.

La Boule D'Or 50th

La Boule d’Or” San Francisco

50th Anniversary 50th on May 30th and 31st 2009

Think about sending your Registration and payment for May 15 via regular mail. This allows us to be prepared to see you all for the Anniversary celebration of our Club on May 30th and 31st.

With the help of sponsors we will be able to have nice Prizes for each tournament! We thank them all!

SAMPLE: for May 30- Presidents Competition, Carrousel 2/2 open.

If we have 20 teams = 7 Prizes for the shooters

Be present at 9:30AM 7 Prizes for the pointers same amount!

Play starts 10:15Am + 1 coup for each first player

+ $570 total prize money

Saturday evening, after play: APERO, Merguez or Sausage furnished by the club, at the boule play ground.

Sample for May 31:- Competition A 2/2 select open + Consolante

Be present: 9Am 4 prizes for the main competition + 1 coup for the first players

Play starts : 10Am 4 prizes for the Consolante + 1 coup for the first players

$818 total prize money, if 20 teams present

Competition B 3/3 Melee open

7 prizes + coupes for the 1st team

$790 total prize money, if 20 teams present

Sunday evening, after play: APERO, at the Petanque courts.

Dinner at the Restaurant at Mr. Manuera, close by.
