kiwis triumph in sonoma

It seemed that players and spectators alike, all had an enjoyable time yesterday in Sonoma as the 24 member New Zealand contingent, uniformly attired in their snappy pétanque shirts, took on the Americans in the 60 and over tournament. The weather was spectacular and all were in good spirits. Unfortunately for the Americans, victory was not to be ours, yet the loss did little to dampen the enthusiasm and enjoyment of a wonderful group of people getting together to play pétanque. It was quite something to realise that such a large group of players travelled so far to play pétanque with us. Thank you, Kiwis, you were all a delight. La Pétanque Marinière wishes you a pleasant stay in California. Also a big thanks to Frank Pipal, chef extrodinaire, for slaving over the delicious paella dinner. The Valley of the Moon pétanque club is to be commended for co-hosting such a warm and hospitable affair.

Just to let you know how much we like the photos. Looks just fantastic, and I love the pictures of all that amazing food. Would you allow me to take the images off your blog for a permanent display on one of our NZ websites? Cheers from a very cold and wintry New Zealand. -Tom.
